The project will reduce speed limit in the area to 45 mph starting at 6 p.m. CDOT advises travelers to plan ahead as there may be possible road closures. If I-25 is closed in the south gap area between Monument and Castle Rock, you can also anticipate Highway 83 to close - meaning no viable routes will be available in the area, so it's recommended that you stay off the road. Northbound traffic will be re-routed back to Colorado Springs and Southbound to Castle Rock or Denver.
