GREELEY, Colo. (AP) — Prosecutors have declined to file charges against a Colorado middle school teacher who was the subject of a police investigation into possible mistreatment of a student.
The Greeley Tribune reports the Weld County District Attorney's Office decided earlier this month not to file charges of cruelty toward a child and harassment proposed by the Evans Police Department.
A student-recorded video shows a female teacher taping a boy to a chair.
According to police documents, the boy's parents told police their son came home nervous, embarrassed and upset. The boy told them he was taped when he didn't sit down.
The Prairie Heights Middle School teacher was placed on paid administrative leave in October.
Greeley-Evans School District spokeswoman Theresa Myers says administrators are deciding how to proceed with the teacher's employment.
