LITTLETON, Colo. — A Colorado post office will hold a dedication ceremony on Monday for Douglas County Deputy Zackari Parrish, who was killed on New Year’s Eve in 2017.

The dedication ceremony is scheduled for Monday at 1 p.m. at the Highlands Ranch Post Office in Littleton. Former Congressman Michael Coffman, Douglas County Sheriff Anthony Spurlock, Postal Inspector in Charge Bill Hedrick and USPS Colorado/Wyoming District Manager Kevin Romero will speak during the ceremony. Congressman Jason Crow will also attend.

The post office, located at 9609 S. University Boulevard in Highlands Ranch, will be designated as Deputy Sheriff Zackari Spurlock Parrish, III, Post Office Building.

Parrish died on Dec. 31, 2017 during a shootout with a man with a rifle at the Copper Canyon apartment complex. Four other officers and two civilians were injured. Sheriff Tony Spurlock said the deputies were ambushed.
