5 Things to Know today: Park County cancels classes, Broncos win, dog park closes for a few days

Good morning! Here are 5 Things to Know today.

1. Park County School District closes school
Students in Park County won't have school today as the union representing teachers in the county said they will go on strike today for better pay. The union and the district have been negotiating a new agreement since July. The union has demanded an increase in compensation to curtail what they call a "teacher retention crisis" in the district.

2. Two injured in downtown shooting
Police are investigating a shooting early this morning that left two people injured. The shooting occurred outside Club Onyx, which is on the 1000 block of 14th Street.

3. Broncos win!
The Broncos suffocated, swarmed and sacked the Titans in a 16-0 victory on Sunday. This marks the team's first shutout since 2017. Has this fostered hope of a U-turn for you, Broncos fans? Read up on our game coverage here. The next game is Thursday against the Kansas City Chiefs.

4. Cherry Creek State Park's dog park closes for a few days

5. Fourteeners continue to get a lot of love
A report by the Colorado Fourteeners Initiative found that the mountains above 14,000 feet in Colorado are getting more traffic. According to the report, Mounts Bierstadt, Elbert, Lincoln, Bross, Democrat and Sherman as well as Quandary, Grays, Torreys and Longs peaks all see more people than 2017.
