DENVER — Two juveniles have been arrested in connection to a drive-by shooting that left a teenage girl injured Wednesday afternoon.

The shooting occurred shortly before 1:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 4500 block of Espana Way in Denver’s Green Valley Ranch neighborhood.

Police said the victim, a student at nearby Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Early College, was exiting a car when another vehicle drove by and a male suspect fired two or three shots.

The victim was struck in the leg, police said. Her injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.

Police said the girl did not appear to be the intended target and another person on the passenger side of her car may have been who the shooter was targeting.

Police have not identified the suspects who were taken into custody.

Denver police said they have increased their presence at area schools following this shooting and another nearby the previous day that left another teen injured.
