DENVER — Police in Denver are investigating a shooting in the Montbello neighborhood Tuesday afternoon.
Police said a 16-year-old boy was found with a gunshot wound in Parkfield Lake Park in the 5200 block of Kittredge Street just outside Collegiate Prep Academy.
Paramedics transported the teen, whose name is not known, to the hospital. The victim's condition is serious, but his injuries appear to be non-life threatening at this time, police said.
Police said the victim is a student at Collegiate Prep Academy. However, the shooting does not appear to be associated with the school, police wrote in a tweet.
Investigators are working to develop suspect information at this time, the tweet read. Police believe at least two suspects were involved.
No other details were immediately available.
