BOULDER, Colo. – The Boulder County Coroner’s Office identified Monday a CU Boulder student who died over the weekend.

Eric Chase Bolling, Jr., 19, was found dead Friday evening, a coroner's release stated. The official report confirms a previous TMZ articlethat identified the student as the son of former Fox News Channel host Eric Bolling.

The entertainment website reported Chase, a student at CU Boulder, died of an apparent drug overdose. However,  the official cause and manner of death are pending further investigation, the coroner release states.

In a statement given to TMZ, the network said, "We are very saddened to hear of the passing of Eric Bolling's son. Eric Chase was a wonderful young man, and our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Bolling family.”

Bolling and Fox News parted ways Friday after a story in the Huffington Post alleged he sent lewd photos to female colleagues. The fallout from that article forced the network to cancel his show, “The Specialists.”

Additional details regarding Chase’s death were not immediately available.
