DENVER – The son of former Fox News Channel host Eric Bolling was found dead in Boulder Friday evening, hours after the host was ousted by the network in the wake of an internal investigation of lewd conduct, according to TMZ.
Eric Chase Bolling, Jr., 19, died of an apparent drug overdose Friday night, TMZ reported Saturday.
The entertainment website reported Chase, a student at CU Boulder, was “having a hard time dealing with the trouble his dad was having at the network.”
In a statement given to TMZ, the network said, "We are very saddened to hear of the passing of Eric Bolling's son. Eric Chase was a wonderful young man and our thoughts and prayers are with the entire Bolling family.”
Bolling issued a statement on Twitter after TMZ broke the story, saying in part that details regarding his son’s death are still unclear.

Authorities have informed us there is no sign of self harm at this point. Autopsy will be next week. Please respect our grieving period.

Bolling and Fox News parted ways Friday after a story in the Huffington Post alleged he sent lewd photos to female colleagues. The fallout from that article forced the network to cancel his show, “The Specialists.”
Before he was let go, Bolling filed a defamation lawsuit against the writer of the piece, seeking $50 million in damages.
