DENVER – A corrections officer at a youth detention center charged last year with having sexual relationships with two inmates was found not guilty in the case earlier this month.

The attorney for Armando Torres told Denver7 Tuesday that a jury found Torres not guilty of the allegations involving one of the girls after deliberating for less than an hour.

Some of the charges involving the allegations from the other girl had been dropped prior to the trial, the attorney, Pamela Robillard Mackey, told Denver7.

The girls had alleged that Torres kissed or touched them inappropriately at the Gilliam Youth Center. He was originally charged with sexual assault on a child and sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.
