LAKEWOOD, Colo. — The snow is done, the sun is out and across town you can hear the sound of shovels hitting the pavement.
Chilisa Shorten and her boyfriend moved to Lakewood in September. She says she's gotten used to the snow after living in Syracuse, New York.
"Well I love the snow, I think it's really pretty but it can be kind of a hassle to clear it off your car or your driveway," Shorten said.
She knows with lots of snow also come a handful of troubles. This time, instead of picking up the shovel, she decided to use "Plowz and Mowz", a snow plowing service.
"I've used it a couple of times in up state New York up in Syracuse and I felt like it was a really great convenient service and it just kind of helped get the task done for me and I like being able to use it on my phone," she said.
Shorten describes it as an Uber for snow plows.
She says people can use the company's app to schedule a snow plow to remove the snow from their driveway.
"You can just do it when you wake up. You're like, 'Oh I don't want to have to do that so I'll just order it," Shorten explained.
Shorten believes it also could be beneficial for people who aren't able to shovel their driveway.
"It's so nice and easy to use and it could really be an asset for people who cannot physically get out there and shovel their own driveways."
