DENVER — A cold front will slip down from Wyoming into Colorado Saturday. Clouds will increase and showers will develop on the eastern plains in the afternoon. The northern mountains will likely receive several inches on new snow.
The cold front will mainly impact areas along and east of the Continental Divide. Rain showers will be possible in Denver in the afternoon with temperatures in the upper 50s. Most places should stay dry, with an increase in cloud coverage through the evening hours.
Temperatures will be colder in northern Colorado, with a couple inches of snow possible near the Wyoming and Nebraska border.
Easter Sunday will start off mostly cloudy with temperatures around 30 degrees in the morning in the Denver area. Some snow showers will linger in the mountains, but the plains will likely stay dry. Highs on Sunday will be in the low to mid-60s in Denver and in the 40s to low 50s in the mountains.
Warmer weather will return early next week for the region as highs reach the 70s on Monday in the Denver area. Skies will be sunny in the morning, but another fast moving cold front will push into Colorado late in the day, bringing an increase in clouds.
Rain, snow and colder weather will arrive on Tuesday, with temperatures staying in the 40s. We will watch the Tuesday system as it might be the next First Alert Action Day for the Denver area.
Dry and pleasant weather will return for next Wednesday and Thursday.
