DENVER —Dry with overnight lows in the 30s tonight for Denver. Changes will be arriving for Thursday though.

We'll be in the 60s on Thursday as a storm system rolls through the state.  It will bring scattered rain and snow showers to the mountains Thursday and we could see a few showers and storms across the plains late Thursday and into early Friday! It looks like there could be snow for extreme NE Colorado around Akron and Sterling.

Cooler air will settle in on Friday.  We'll see 50s on Friday and low 60s on Saturday!

What we really need is a good snow storm!  Snow has been scarce this season with only seen 19.6" of snow at Denver International Airport — about half normal at this point in the season.

In the mountains, the snow-pack is roughly at 70 percent of normal for the season, with the southern mountain areas in the worst shape. The storms in late February did help, but the recent mild and quiet weather has lessened the snow-pack a bit in the past week.  Looking ahead — we could use several more good snowstorms!

There are some signs of a change in the weather pattern around the middle of the month with a better chance for heavier snow around St. Patrick's Day.
