DENVER — Our next storm will impact Colorado Friday.  Rain will be changing to snow west of the Divide, with some heavier snow through the day.   A winter weather advisory is in effect for the mountains into this evening. There is a chance for showers rolling east over the plains Friday afternoon.

The wind will pick up across the plains with this next storm.  Fire danger is quite a bit higher on Friday and we'll see gusts over 50mph in the foothills and northern Front Range mountains.  All of southeastern Colorado is under a fire weather warning Friday afternoon.

We'll see partly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees in Denver metro tomorrow.

By the beginning of next week, cooler air and rain will move into the Front Range.

Looking ahead- we could still use more snow... In the mountains, the snow-pack is roughly at 70 percent of normal for the season, with the southern mountain areas in the worst shape. The next chance for more moisture looks to be by the end of the week in the high country. Stay tuned!
