DENVER — A series of Pacific storms are bringing widespread snow to the mountains and very gusty winds over the plains. The Denver area will be mostly cloudy and breezy tonight, with lows dropping to the upper 20s by morning.

Winter Weather Advisories will stay in effect through Thursday night for most of our northern and central mountains. Expect prolonged periods of snow and wind to impact the high country through the end of the week. Additional snow totals around 3-5 inches will be likely in the mountains, especially along and north of I-70.

Temperatures on Thursday across the Front Range will be cooler, in the low 40s, with winds gusty at times. Friday, expect sunshine and highs near 40 degrees in Denver.

Mountain snow should taper off by Friday, with a warmer and dry weekend ahead. This first weekend of 2020 is looking sunny, with highs near 50 degrees on Saturday and Sunday.
