An active early June weather pattern continues across much of Colorado!

A small funnel cloud was spotted briefly near Aurora early Monday afternoon. The funnel cloud never reached the ground. The National Weather Service said conditions were favorable for the development of "landspouts". Landspouts are not usually associated with a strong "Super Cell" thunderstorm. They do not have a wall cloud and are often difficult to detect with weather radar.

Another round of strong to severe thunderstorms rumbled across eastern Colorado through the afternoon. The storms have moved well east of the area and quiet weather will hold for the night and for Tuesday morning.

Also, an ozone alert has been issued for Monday and Tuesday for high ozone levels, which is unhealthy for sensitive groups. If you have lung or breathing issues, it's best to stay indoors.

Lows will cool to the upper 40s and low 50s by early Monday.

Expect highs in the upper 70s to low 80s on Tuesday. More storms are possible during the afternoon afternoon, but the risk of severe weather is lower.

Temperatures will dip a few more degrees by mid-week, with upper 70s on Wednesday and low 70s by Thursday. There will be a better chance for thunderstorms Wednesday and Thursday.

Friday and Saturday will be warmer and mainly dry, followed by a cooling trend on Sunday. Highs will be in the low to mid-80s Friday and Saturday, but just around 70 degrees on Sunday.
