DENVER —Mild weather is expected across Colorado this week. A westerly flow aloft will block cold air masses to our north and leave Colorado in a rather peaceful and pleasant pattern.

Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy through early Tuesday, but most of the clouds will be 15,000 feet or higher, so little precipitation is expected. The only exception will be over the northeast quarter of the state where some low clouds and patchy fog may develop early in the morning.

Lows will be in the 20s in the mountains and in the 30s to near 40 degrees for lower elevations.

A weak storm system will spread light snow to the northern and central mountains Tuesday and Wednesday, but amounts will only be a few inches. Denver and the eastern plains can expect increasing clouds with this weak system. A few isolated showers are also possible later in the day Tuesday. Highs will be in the 40s in the mountains and 50s to low 60s on the plains.

There will be a better chance of rain across the Denver metro area on Wednesday as the minor storm moves through the region. Expect highs in Denver to be in the low to mid-50s on Wednesday, with 30s in the mountains.

Skies will clear on Thursday with highs in the 60s and Friday looks nice as well! So far, opening day for the Rockies looks great with mostly skies and highs in the 60s!

Another weak storm will move across the central Rockies on Saturday, with a slight chance for showers and thunderstorms.
