After highs in the 60s to end our work week, things will be cooling down this weekend.

Another, slightly stronger cold front will arrive Saturday afternoon and early Sunday with colder temperatures and a chance of light snow.  This storm doesn't look too impressive for the plains, but it could bring a few more inches of snow to the mountains.  Expect highs in the upper 40s for Saturday afternoon (with a wintry mix overnight into early Sunday morning)..then highs in the mid to upper 30s on Sunday.

Next week we'll see milder weather Monday through Wednesday with dry conditions.  Next Thursday will be the first day of Winter (officially at 9:28 a.m. MST) and it will feel like it! The JET STREAM will bring cold air in from Canada and perhaps some significant snow to Colorado! It is still a week away, but be prepared for a big change in the weather late next week and continuing into Christmas!

With this most recent storm, the official snowfall at DIA has been 3.2 inches this season. By mid December, Denver would typically see around 18 inches of snow...so we are still well below normal.

By the way, next Wednesday (Dec. 20) we will be featuring our "HOLIDAY HOTLINE" from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. Meteorologists from Metro State will be in the studio to provide FREE, custom weather forecasts to help you with your Christmas travel plans! Stay tuned for details next week.
