DENVER --  Afternoon highs were in the upper 90s and low 100s for most of the metro and eastern plains today. Our record in Denver still stands at 101 degrees after our high reached 98 degrees.

Temperatures will drop into the mid  60s early Friday morning.  Friday will be another warm one just not as hot as today.  There will also be a little increase in cloud cover Friday afternoon, with a slight chance of afternoon storms.   We'll see highs in the mid-90s by 4 p.m.

Highs will remain in the 90s through the weekend.  We'll see a slight chance for some much needed rain both late Friday and again Sunday afternoon.  The overall picture is pretty dry and hot until the start of next week!

Next week will take a cooler turn.  We're looking at highs in the low to mid-80s on Monday and Tuesday.
