Dry hot air moves into Denver the next few days

DENVER --  Afternoon highs made it into the upper 80s for Denver Tuesday afternoon. We also had strong scattered thunderstorms race across the Front Range and the plains. Storms will be clearing as we head through the evening. Our overnight lows will be in the low 60s with partly cloudy skies. 

A flash flood watch will remain in effect near the 416 burn scar until tonight, with more storms and areas of heavy rain expected tomorrow.

Temperatures will climb into the mid 90s for Wednesday as warmer air moves in. After that, really hot air moves in for our next First Alert Action Day on Thursday. This alert day is for heat~ with near record highs for the afternoon. Just about everyone will have highs in the upper 90s and low 100s. For Denver we expect a high of 99 degrees~and the record is 101 for the day. 

Highs will remain in the 90s for the rest of the week and the weekend.
