DENVER —  A cold front has pushed into Colorado and will stall over the central part of the state through the weekend. Cool and showery weather can be expected to the north of the front.  Warm, dry and windy conditions will cover the areas south of the front.

In Denver and across the northeast plains, fog and drizzle can be expected through Sunday morning.  Skies will clear out a bit more by midday, with another chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.

High temperatures will only be in the 60s for Sunday in Denver and over northern Colorado, while 70s and 80s will cover the southern part of the state.

The weather will stay unsettled into early next week with showers and thunderstorms possible again Monday and Tuesday as the front remains stuck over the state.

Although the timing of this storm is not great for weekend outdoor plans, this next system is expected to bring some welcome water - helping to ease the dryness and make mom's garden grow!

The front will finally exit the region on Wednesday with warmer and drier weather returning.
