DENVER — The mountains are in very good shape in terms of fresh snow - thanks to a recent round of snowfall. Scattered snow showers will linger in the high country tonight and Friday, but most accumulations will be only a couple inches. Lows will drop to zero to 10 above in most mountain areas early Friday.

For Denver and the eastern plains, the weather will stay dry and chilly tonight with lows in the upper teens to low 20s under a mostly clear sky.

Friday will be a mostly sunny day with highs in the middle 40s for Denver and vicinity. Some lingering snow showers can be expected in the mountains along and north of I-70. Temperatures in the high country will be in the middle 20s to low 30s.

Saturday will be a warmer day across Colorado with temperatures in the mid-to upper 50s for Denver and the eastern plains. In the mountains, high temperatures will pop up to the middle 30s to low 40s.

A cold front will move across the state on Sunday and bring more snow showers to the mountains. Denver and the eastern plains will be dry, but cooler with highs in the low to mid-40s.

The weather pattern will remain fairly quiet early next week with just some mountains snow showers Monday and Tuesday, but dry weather for Denver and the eastern plains.
