DENVER — Winter officially began today, but it didn't feel like it. It was warm and dry with upper 50s to low 60s under a mostly sunny sky (63 degrees officially at DIA).

The weather pattern will shift a bit over the weekend, with colder temperatures and a better chance for fresh powder in the mountains. Denver and the Front Range will have highs back in the upper 30s and low 40s with some flurries possible on Saturday morning.

Sunday and Monday (Christmas Eve) will be dry and mild — good weather for traveling. Christmas Day will start dry, but clouds will increase and some snow will develop later in the day.

It does appear that the weather will slip back into a more active pattern Christmas night and on Dec. 26 with colder temperatures and a chance for snow in Denver!
