DENVER — The early summer heat continues with highs in the low to mid-90s for Denver and across northeastern Colorado. The foothills topped out in the 80s, with 70s for the mountains.
Our mid-June Colorado weather pattern continues a routine of warm, dry mornings, building midday clouds and scattered afternoon thunderstorms.
The storms near Denver will stay below severe levels through this evening and again tomorrow, with just a little rain, lightning and gusty winds.
Thursday will see a bit more cloud cover and the winds will pick up ahead of an approaching cold front. That front is set to roll through Thursday evening and bring cooler weather for Friday.
There will also be a push of higher surface humidity , combined with an upper air disturbance crossing the central Rockies Friday and Saturday. These features will bring a better chance for strong to severe thunderstorms on both of those days.
Temperatures in Denver and across northeastern Colorado will be cooler with highs in the upper 70s to low 80s on Friday.
Saturday will be in the low to mid-80s with a good chance for afternoon thunderstorms
By Sunday and early next week, the weather will turn hot and mostly dry.
