DENVER — We reached the 80s for afternoon highs on Saturday- 20 degrees above normal.

A storm system will bring a chance for rain to Denver on Easter Sunday, with snow for the mountains. Temperatures will be cooler on Sunday with highs in the 60s for Denver and the Eastern Plains. Sunrise services will not be partly cloudy, with temperatures around 50 degrees.

Showers and thunderstorms will be likely in the afternoon. We have issued a First Alert Action Day for this rainfall because it will be disruptive to any of your outdoor activities on Sunday.

Monday will stay cool and unsettled with rain and thunderstorms possible again for Denver. A few inches of snow will fall in the mountains. Highs will only reach the upper 40s in the Denver area, while the mountains stay in the 30s.

Dryer and warmer weather will return next Tuesday and Wednesday.
