Crews are working to repair a valve leak on a water line on South University Boulevard at Center Avenue.

The repair typically takes six to eight hours, Denver Water spokesman Travis Thompson told Denver7 early Saturday morning.

Crews must dig down to reach the leaking valve and make the repair.

Northbound lanes of South University Boulevard are closed between Exposition Avenue and Alameda Avenue. Southbound traffic is down to one lane in that same area.

"There was no estimated time for completion, but the work will last through the day," Thompson said

No customers were without water because of the leak.
