DENVER – The westbound lanes of Interstate 70 were closed as multiple vehicles were involved in crashes west of the Eisenhower Tunnel late Saturday morning.

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) reported the first closure at around 10:20 a.m. Officials said westbound I-70 had a safety closure at the Eisenhower Tunnel due to crashes west of the tunnel.

About 30 minutes later, the closure had been extended to Loveland Pass. Watch the closure from the CDOT camera below:

Colorado State Patrol Troopers in Golden said there were seven individual crashes which also involved at least one motorcycle. The injuries resulting from the multiple crashes do not appear to be serious, CSP Golden officials said.

Roads were back open just before noon.
