Live Colorado traffic updates as snowstorm moves through much of the state Saturday

This is the Denver7 breaking and developing news blog. Throughout the day, this story will be updated with both minor and large breaking news events that our readers care about. Check back as we continue to update this story. 

5:52 p.m.: The City of Thornton is no longer under accident alert. 

3:45 p.m.: The Adams County Fire Department is reporting they have responded to 11 vehicle accidents since 9:30 a.m. They advise residents to avoid driving if possible. 

2:48 p.m.: Eastbound I-70 at Lookout Mountain has re-opened, per the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. Delays could remain in the area for some time. 

2:25 p.m.: A crash has been reported on northbound I-25 at Castle Pines Parkway, mile marker 183. The left lanes are closed, CDOT says. 

2:21 p.m.: The eastbound lanes of I-70 is closed near Lookout Mountain due to this jackknifed semi. There's no estimated time for reopening of the highway. 

2:15 p.m.: Traffic has been detoured in that jackknifed semi crash at Lookout Mountain to Genesee. An alternate route is US 6.  

2:07 p.m.: Elbert County is on accident alert, per a spokesperson from the Elbert County Sheriff's Office. 

2:07 p.m.: The Colorado State Patrol - Castle Rock division says I-25 in Douglas County is "very slushy and icy."

1:50 p.m.: A jackknifed is blocking the east bound lanes of I-70 at Lookout Mountain at mile marker 256. Expect delays, per CDOT. 

12:55 p.m.: The City of Parker is also now under accident alert. 

11:45 a.m.: The City of Thornton is on accident alert, meaning that if you're involved in an accident and no one is injured, police ask that you do not call for a police officer. Exchange information with the other driver, report it to your insurance company and wait to file the police report until later.  

11:30 a.m.: US 6 at Loveland Pass is now closed due to a vehicle recovery in the area. No estimated time for the reopening of the highway, CDOT says.

11:25 a.m.: CDOT warns that roads have deteriorated due to moderate-to-heavy snow throughout the Denver area. 

10:10 a.m.: A Traction Law is also now in effect on I-70 between Vail and Denver, according to CDOT. 

9:20 a.m.: Traction Law in effect for US 24 Battle Mountain, per CDOT.

7:20 a.m.: Traction Law in effect at Hoosier Pass - Colorado 9. 

7:15 a.m.: Heavy traffic is increasing on WB I-70; up to 2 hours of travel time from Denver/C-470 to the Eisenhower Tunnel.
