Drive through Daniel's Park Road? It's getting paved, which means it'll be closed for 2 months

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. – If you take Daniel’s Park Road to drive from Highlands Ranch to Castle Rock, you may want to start thinking of a different route, because the road is about to close for two months for paving purposes.

Plans for the closure of the road were approved Tuesday, which the project scheduled to begin the week of October 23. The paving of the road is expected to last 70 days, according to Douglas County officials.

“We should have the roadwork done enough to open it to traffic by the end of the year,” said Wendy Manitta Holmes, a spokeswoman for Douglas County. 

The road is of monumental importance for those who live in Highlands Ranch, Castle Pines and even Castle Rock.

Daniel's Park Road is a shortcut for many between Highlands Ranch and Castle Rock and it’s also where people go to enjoy the view and the buffalo herd.

While it's scheduled to be back open by the end of the year, Holmes said it will probably close again int he springs for final paving.
