DENVER -- In this story, Denver7 Sports Director Lionel Bienvenu takes you to Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children, as kids battling cancer helped Mammoth players design the helmets they will wear in the Lacrosse Out Cancer game against the Saskatchewan Rush on March 25.
More than $100,000 has been raised in the first seven years of the team’s ‘Lacrosse Out Cancer’ campaign. Jerseys of all Mammoth players, including mascot Wooly, that will be worn on “Lacrosse Out Cancer Night” on Saturday, March 25 will go to auction. The net proceeds benefit local non-profit cancer-related organizations.
“Each year, this mission is the team’s most impactful community initiative,” said Mammoth President and General Manager Steve Govett. “It’s a great night for a great cause, and the jerseys are a touching tribute to so many inspirational people.”
