DENVER – What’s more American than apple pie or baseball? If you answered Apple Pie Nachos, then perhaps you may enjoy the new culinary options coming to Coors Field on Opening Day.

From shareable loaded French fries and gourmet grilled cheese to house-cured, hand-carved and handmade sandwiches, Colorado is getting some interesting eats this year.

Ever heard of the Colorado Queso Stak? We hadn’t either, but it’s what coming this year to Coors Field. Here’s what you’ll get: A jumbo portion of waffle fries topped with house made green Chile queso, fresh made pico de gallo, fresh cut jalapeños and a drizzle of sour cream.

Not your thing? How about trying the new Colorado Brisket Melt? Chopped brisket, mixed with sautéed onions and bacon and toped with white American cheese will await your anxious appetite starting Friday.

Perhaps you’re looking to add some spice to your life to make the game more exciting? Then you’ll want to try the Spicy Chicken Sandwich: Fresh grilled marinated chicken breast, topped with pepper jack cheese, fried jalapeños, sriracha aioli, lettuce, and tomato on jalapeño cheddar bread. Yikes!

And if you’re sweet tooth is craving a new, wild combination, you may want to go for the Apple Pie Nachos. Cinnamon sugar chips topped with apple pie filling, shredded cheddar cheese, whipped cream and caramel topping sound just about right to hit that spot just after the 5th inning.
