Thousands participate in 40th running of BolderBOULDER race

BOULDER, Colo. – Monday was the 40th running of the BolderBOULDER, and was one of the biggest years in the race’s history.

The 10K run has been named among the country’s best and is the third-largest 10K in the United States.

Tyler McCandless won the men’s citizen’s race; Melissa Dock took home the top spot in the women’s citizen’s race; and Amanda McGrory and Aaron Pike took home first-place in the push-rim wheelchair races.

More than 50,000 runners and 100,000 spectators  participated in Monday’s race, a yearly Memorial Day tradition.

There are new rules this year regarding bags: people entering the stadium will only be allowed to bring one clear bag no larger than 12 inches x 6 inches by 12 inches.

Runners kicked off the race at 6:55 a.m. Denver7 will stream the beginning of the race and the finish line for those who want to see themselves cross!
