BOULDER, Colo. -- BolderBOULDER race day is almost here and you may be feeling nervous, excited and maybe a little intimidated.

BolderBOULDER co-founder and Olympic Gold Medalist Frank Shorter says motivation is key to having a successful race. Here are some great tips for setting race day goals:

  • Find inspiration from athletes, legends in the sport, pro athletes, friends, training partners
  • Make tiered goals for race day:
  • Personal record
  • Time that would be achievable
  • Finish the race
  • Get in the race mindset

Finally, taper and relax. Make sure your rested and fresh on race day.
