UPDATE | 4:15 p.m. — Despite a strong first half, the Denver Nuggets fell to the Portland Trail Blazers 100-96 in Game 7 of the Western Conference Semifinals on Sunday afternoon.

Denver fans grew more anxious as the score slowly evened out over the second half. At halftime, Denver still held the lead 48-39, but by the end of the third quarter, the Nuggets were barely holding off Portland with a near-tie of 72-71.

The Trail Blazers gradually increased their lead in the final quarter, with a strong effort at the very end by Denver. But it wasn't enough Sunday afternoon and the game ended at 100-96, with a victory for Portland.

The Trail Blazers will go on to play against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday for Game 1 of the West Conference Finals.
