Colorado Avalanche selects 8 players at 2018 NHL Draft

DALLAS – The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club is returning home with eight new players following the 2018 National Hockey League Draft that took place this weekend at the American Center in Dallas.

Here’s the complete list of the players the Avs selected at the 2018 NHL Draft:

  1. Martin Kaut, right winger – Padubice (Czech)
  2. Justus Annunen, goaltender – Karpat (Finland)
  3. Sampo Ranta , left winger – Sioux City (USHL)
  4. Tyler Weiss, left winter, center – U.S. National Team Development Program
  5. Brandon Saigeon, center – Hamilton (OHL)
  6. Danila Zhuravylov, defenceman – Irbis Kazan (Russia Jr.)
  7. Nikolai Kovalenko, right winger – Loko Yaroslavl (Russia Jr.)
  8. Shamil Smakov, goaltender – Sibirskie Snaipery Novosibirsk (Russia Jr.)

In all, the Avs. picked five forwards, one defensemen and two goaltenders.
