BB Training Week 1: Getting started

Over the next ten weeks we will be taking you through the BolderBOULDER ’s Intermediate to Advance 10K training plan created by Revolution Running. Whether you’re a newbie or seasoned runner, we promise that if you follow these plans and training tips you will have your best BolderBOULDER ever!

  • What’s great about walking, running or jogging is the only piece of equipment you need is a good pair of running shoes. We would recommend investing a little more and getting a great pair of running shoes that fit you well.
  • Make sure you have some comfortable breathable clothes to train in. Since we know the weather in Colorado can be unpredictable, layering your work-out gear will help you when the weather gets cold. Skechers Performance Division makes some great training gear that you can pick-up at your local Sports Authority Elite location.
  • It’s also a good idea whether you have prior health issues or not, chat with your doctor before you begin this training program.

For this training program you will incorporate running with cross training. Some good cross training options are  - elliptical, cycling, swimming or anything else that gets your heart rate going. Also, for this plan make sure to look at the legend at the top of training plan for more information on how to pace each your work-outs.
