A job search can feel overwhelming. Where do you start? How do you find the right fit for your skillset? How do you find the right location?

Fortunately online job boards such as Indeed, Monster and ZipRecruiter help filter through available openings and even offer trends for jobs that people are searching for.

Unsurprisingly some of the top searches involve work-from-home and other remote positions, such as online teaching.

Here in Colorado, there's another useful tool: The Connecting Colorado website, which helps both job seekers and employers. The site offers information about local workforce centers — where counselors help applicants find jobs — and virtual job fairs.

Connecting Colorado — which coordinates with the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, the Colorado Workforce Center and the American Job Center Network — allows job seekers to search for Colorado jobs by job title or keyword, location or job type or industry.

Applicants can register with Connecting Colorado to post their resume and apply for jobs listed on the website.
