Trump Threatens To Cancel Press Briefings 'For The Sake Of Accuracy'

The White House can't seem to keep its story straight about the firing of FBI director James Comey.

But President Donald Trump might have a solution to that problem — cancel all future press briefings.

Trump said in a series of tweets Friday morning it is "not possible" for his staff to "stand at podium with perfect accuracy."

And he suggested handing out written responses to the press in lieu of briefings "for the sake of accuracy."

The Trump administration has offered several accounts of how Comey's firing went down. And this wouldn't be the first time a member of Trump's team got their facts wrong.

Like when top adviser Kellyanne Conway defended Trump's travel ban by citing a terrorist attack that never happened.

Or when press secretary Sean Spicer inaccurately described the size of the crowd at Trump's inauguration.

It's unclear if Trump will actually do away with White House press briefings.
