Suspect In Jewish Community Center Bomb Threats Arrested In Israel

Another suspect has been arrested in connection with a series of bomb threats against Jewish community centers and other institutions throughout the U.S.

Israeli police confirmed Thursday they had taken a 19-year-old Israeli man into custody but did not release his name. The arrest came after a monthslong investigation by the Israeli police and the FBI.

U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions commended authorities for their "outstanding work" on the case, adding, "We will not tolerate the targeting of any community in this country on the basis of their religious beliefs."

According to several reports, the suspect holds both Israeli and U.S. citizenship and had also made threats to institutions in New Zealand and Australia. His motive is still unclear.

In the U.S. alone, Jewish community centers and schools received more than 100 bomb threats this year.

Earlier this month, a Missouri man was arrested and accused of making some of the threatening phone calls. He has been charged with cyberstalking.
