Gerber Issues Recalls For Some Baby Food Pouches

Attention, parents: Gerber is recalling some baby food.

On Thursday, the company announced a voluntary recall of some organic baby food pouches because of a packaging problem that could cause the food to spoil during transport.

The recall affects two batches of Gerber's Organic 2nd Foods Pears, Carrots and Peas pouches, and two batches of its Carrots, Apples and Mangoes pouches. All the affected batches have "best by" dates between July 12 and July 14.

For the Pears, Carrots and Peas, the recalled products' batch codes are 51945335XX with a July 12 best-by date, and 51955335XX with a July 13 best-by date.

For the Carrots, Apples and Mangoes, the recalled products' batch codes are 519555335XX with a July 13 best-by date, and 51965335XX with a July 14 best-by date.

The pouches were sold in stores and online, and parents can identify the affected products by the UPC, best-by dates and batch codes.

Parents with the recalled products can call the Gerber Parents Resource Center at 800-706-0556 for a replacement coupon.
