GAO: Trump's Voter Fraud Investigation Commission To Be Investigated

The Government Accountability Office said it will investigate President Donald Trump's controversial commission on voter fraud.

The GAO confirmed it will look into the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity following a request from Democratic Sens. Michael Bennet, Amy Klobuchar and Cory Booker.

The senators raised concerns about the commission's motives, funding and methodology.

Trump opened the commission via executive order, tasking the panel with looking into his own unproven claims that millions of people voted illegally in the 2016 presidential election.

The commission has only met twice, according to CNN

In its response to the letter from the senators, the GAO said there were already signs the commission has suppressed voter participation. The office said it will start its investigation in roughly five months.
