PARK COUNTY, Colo. — Evacuations were ordered for two subdivisions in Park County Sunday afternoon after a 83-acre wildfire sparked a couple miles west of Tarryall.

The fire, named the Thorpe Fire, is burning along South Park Road off Forest Service Road 230 and Park County Road 31. It's about two miles southwest of Tarryall, officials said.

Two subdivisions of Weber Park have been evacuated. Forest Service Roads 227 and 231 and County Roads 31 and 44 have been evacuated and are closed as of Monday morning. Click here for more details on evacuations.

Officials said structures are threatened.

As of 3 p.m., a dozer, helicopter and large air tanker were assisting ground crews.

The cause of the fire is unknown. Fire officials originally said the fire was 100 acres, but corrected it to 83 acres after getting more accurate mapping from aircraft.
