BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. — A heavy winter storm brought up to 13 inches of snow to the Calwood Fire on Sunday, limiting fire growth through the day.

The fire was at 10,105 acres and 76% contained, according to Monday morning's update.

The Lefthand Canyon Fire also in Boulder County was 460 acres and 100% contained over the weekend.

Crews were expecting the diminished Calwood Fire activity to continue Monday due to colder temperatures and more snowfall in the morning. Firefighters will try to increase containment by mopping up lines around the edge of the fire, according to a news release from officials.

Temperatures weren't expected to get out of the teens for the fire area Monday, and wind chills as low as minus-3 were possible. Snow should remain on the ground into Tuesday before a gradual warmup into the 40s over the next several days.

The Boulder County Sheriff's Office lifted some evacuation orders and closures over the weekend. Go here for the latest updated information on evacuations and closures.
