RIO BLANCO COUNTY, Colo. --  A hunter missing since Saturday has been found safe.

The 61-year-old hunter from Michigan was last seen Saturday around 8 a.m. at a camp near Pagoda Lake, about 45 miles from Meeker, on the Western Slope.

The man's hunting partner said the two of them split up and were supposed to meet for lunch, but his friend never showed up.

The hunting partner reported the man missing Sunday at the Ripple Creek Lodge and the Sheriff’s Office was contacted.

Searchers looked for the man Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

On Tuesday, rescuers saw a man waving at them from a distance. When they caught up to the man, they found he was the missing hunter.

Deputies said the man was not hurt, but was somewhat confused and dehydrated.

He was taken to a nearby medical center to be evaluated.

The search team included Rio Blanco County Search & Rescue, Rio Blanco County Sheriff’s Office, Meeker Fire & Rescue, US Forest Service White River Field Office, Routt County Search and Rescue, Grand County Search and Rescue, BLM, a scent dog from SARDOC Larimer County Search and Rescue, Classic Air Medical Helicopter, the Colorado Multi-Mission Aircraft, Colorado Search and Rescue Board (CSRB) and the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center (AFRCC).
