DELTA, Colo. -- Former state Rep. Douglas Bruce, who is serving prison time for violating his probation for tax evasion, has been granted parole.
The Colorado Springs Gazette reports that Bruce was granted parole effective Sept. 3 following a hearing at the Delta Correctional Facility.
Bruce told state parole board member Alfredo Pena that he accepted responsibility for his actions leading up to his incarceration.
The anti-tax activist was convicted in 2012 of tax evasion and trying to influence a public servant.
He was released after 104 days, but was sentenced in March to at least two years in prison for violating his probation by failing to disclose his financial dealings.
