DENVER – Police in southern Colorado want your help after a man reportedly tried to kidnap a child over the weekend.

The incident took place on Saturday at around 1:30 p.m. in the area of East 3rd Street and Florence Avenue in the City of Florence, located about ten miles southeast of Canon City.

The man in the attempted child abduction reportedly tried to lure a 4-year-old child into his truck. Police are concerned because the vehicle has also been seen by other children at other parks in the area.

The suspect in the attempted child abduction was described as a Hispanic male, between 50 and 60-years-old, approximately 5-feet-7 tall and weighing around 200 pounds.

Police said he speaks English but has a Spanish accent, and has salt and pepper hair and a mustache. He was last seen wearing a plain white t-shirt.

The vehicle was described as a clean candy apple red Dodge Ram 1500 extended cab 4x4 pickup truck with doors that open toward each other. The vehicle has black rims.
