DENVER – John Hickenlooper and Michael Bennet – Colorado’s two presidential candidates – have qualified for the first primary debate of the 2020 campaign, which will take place later this month.
Hickenlooper, the former Colorado governor, and Bennet, a U.S. senator from Colorado, are among 20 candidates who will participate in the two-night debate in Miami.
The debates will be hosted by NBC News, MSNBC and Telemundo.
The other 18 candidates who qualified for the debates are: Joe Biden, Cory Booker, Pete Buttigieg, Julian Castro, Bill de Blasio, John Delaney, Tulsi Gabbard, Kirsten Gillibrand, Kamala Harris, Jay Inslee, Amy Klobuchar, Beto O’Rourke, Tim Ryan, Bernie Sanders, Eric Swalwell, Elizabeth Warren, Marianna Williamson and Andrew Yang.

The Democratic National Committee said that neither Bennet nor Hickenlooper qualified through both polling and fundraising thresholds. All candidates had to garner at least 1 percentage point in three qualifying polls or show evidence they had garnered at least 65,000 unique voters, with at least 200 different donors in 20 or more states.
Steve Bullock, Mike Gravel, Wayne Messam and Seth Moulton did not qualify for the first debate.
Ten candidates will appear on stage at each debate, but the lineups have yet to be determined.
The debates will be broadcast live from 7 to 9 p.m. MT on June 26 and 27.
