DENVER – About two-hundred people protested President Donald Trump and demanded his impeachment from office Sunday at Denver’s Civic Center Park just days away from Independence Day.

The Impeachment March also called for better representation in government for the people.

“It’s not just about impeaching Trump—it’s about removing the damaged system that allowed him to be elected in the first place, and replacing it with something that actually works for the people,” said Sam Montgomery, a co-organizer for Sunday’s Impeachment March.

The event will begin at 11 a.m. with speeches in the Greek Amphitheater from community leaders such as Jeannette Vizguerra, among others. The march is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. at Civic Center Park. Protesters will be chanting a quote from the Declaration of Independence as they march around the Colorado State Capitol, the event's Facebook page states.

Organizers said President Trump has “repeatedly demonstrated himself to be a threat to the Bill of Rights that protects the very livelihood of the American people. From banning the press, to the systematic attacks on women’s rights, to the Muslim travel ban, President Trump gives flippant disregard to the document upon which this country was founded.”

The Impeachment March is taking place across 45 other cities in the United States.
