DENVER -- A lot of developments this week at the State Capitol, including the instruction of a transportation funding bill that was tough just to get off the ground.

“Even just to get the bill introduced was a huge deal because the sponsors took -- especially the Senate President -- took a lot of heat from his own members and from people outside the capitol for introducing this bill,” Marianne Goodland of The Colorado Independent told Anne Trujillo on this week's Politics Unplugged.

Marianne says the bill will likely evolve a lot before lawmakers decide whether Colorado voters will get the chance to decide whether to raise the state sales tax to help pay for millions of dollars in backlogged state transportation projects.

“We do anticipate a lot of changes in this bill before it gets through the entire process.”
