DENVER -- Water rights have been a challenge in the west for well over a century. Drought conditions and a growing population are compounding the fight over the limited supply.

Former U.S. Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack is working with Colorado State University on this year's Water in the West Symposium where a diverse group of leaders will take a look at the issues as well as possible solutions. Vilsack sat down with Nicole Brady to discuss some of the issues leaders will look at on this week's Politics Unplugged.

Politics Unplugged airs Sundays at 4:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Denver7 and noon on K3-KCDO.
