GOLDEN, Colo. – The pipeline for Denver Water’s North System Renewal Project is two-thirds of the way complete.
The eight-and-a-half-mile pipeline is a part of a $600 million upgrade to part of the region's water system.
“This is a project that will also result in a state-of-the-art new treatment plant in Golden along Highway 93,” said Denver Water spokesperson Todd Hartman.
The project began in 2017, but after recent construction progress, it’s become more visible to those living nearby.
"This is a project that will take us decades into the future and ensure safe, clean drinking water for our customers so its an example of your water rates at work to carry us all into the future," said Hartman.
Hartman said if everything goes according to schedule, the project will be complete in 2024.
